After explaining in the first three chapters, the tremendous blessings which all Christians have, Paul now begins to explain how we are called to live. In the first 16 verses of Chapter 4, he shows how we Christians are inherently united as a single body, but that each of us is different. Each of us exists to serve and to be served by the others, to build one another up, to perfect one another and, thereby, to perfect the body of Christ, which is what we are.
