Having begun in Chapter 4 to describe the new life that we have in Christ, Paul continues in the first part of Chapter 5. He begins by reminding us that we are children of God and therefore called to imitate God! With this in mind, we should be horrified to think of ourselves engaging in acts of sexual immorality and the like. Such shameful things belong to the darkness, Paul says, but we have been brought into the light and become light. We must act accordingly if, indeed, we are Children of God.
