Neither the Old Testament prophets nor Christ nor his Apostles refer explicitly to the “Year of Jubilee” which is established here in Leviticus, Chapter 25 and referred to elsewhere in the Bible only once, in Numbers 36:4. Similarly the Sabbatical Year is rarely referred to in the Bible outside of Leviticus 25. Surely we are supposed to notice this and have it in mind as we read Chapter 26, which speaks of the blessings and curses which shall flow to Israel depending on her obedience.
