Two difficult sayings of Jesus: First, responding to his apostles’ request that he add to their faith, he says that if they had faith the size of a mustard seed, they would be able to command fantastic miracles. Then he he asks them to imagine how they would treat a slave if they had one and then urges them to expect no more from God. Both passages have received a lot of attention from the church down through the centuries.
