At the end of Chapter 17, both the Pharisees and Jesus’ disciples asked about the age to come and Jesus’ answers were puzzling but helpful. At the beginning of Chapter 18, Jesus tells the Parable of the Persistent Widow, to the effect that his disciples “should always pray and not lose heart.” The parable ends with Jesus or Luke wondering whether the Son of Man will find faith on earth when he comes.
