Here for at least the third time in Luke’s account, Jesus tells his disciples that he must suffer and die when they arrive in Jerusalem and, then, rise from the dead. His disciples do not understand even this. Certainly they know nothing of the atonement for sin which Jesus will accomplish there. Yet they (with the possible exception of Judas) certainly are all his disciples. This is thought provoking!
