Here Jesus tells the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Luke tells us that this parable was told to (or about) those who, like the Pharisee in the parable, “trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt.” Interestingly Jesus has been speaking to his disciples since 17:22 with no indication of a change in audience.
