After all they had seen Jesus do, and despite his repeated explanations to the contrary, now that he was on the verge of entering Jerusalem, his disciples wrongly supposed that he would soon establish the kingdom of God, fully, on earth. Knowing this, Jesus told the Parable of the Ten Minas.
