Here we read Luke’s account of the early days of Jesus teaching ministry. He beings by telling us that, around the age of 30, before Jesus had begun to call his disciples, he was teaching in the synagogues in Galilee, where he was very well received. One sabbath day, when Jesus went to the synagogue in his home town of Nazareth, he was likewise very well received, at first, but later he was murderously rejected. Why? That is one interesting question. But why then? It would seem from reading Luke that Jesus had probably attended that same synagogue a thousand times before (once per week for 20 years).
